FreeBSD is a widely used UNIX flavor that excels in fields of performance, stability and security. Sites such as Yahoo use FreeBSD for the core of their services. Euregio.net uses FreeBSD on its UNIX servers to provide core Internet services such as user authentication, DNS, firewalls, mail and news. FireSite by Clearway is a very flexible and innovative tool which is used at euregio.net to automatically maintain the mirror sites and accelerates web server connections. Maxum Development is the publisher of various CGI programs and plug-ins for web servers. Euregio.net uses most of Maxum's tools and has been involved in beta testing new products. Programs we are using include special server side includes for dynamic content creation, form handling software, network monitoring software, FTP services and search engine. WebSTAR is the standard web server software for the MacOS platform. The server software is fast and reliable and handles millions of connections per day.
